The thoughts behind this publication was a realisation that people need to initially understand how they are individually impacted by social media, and how they can make changes first in their own behaviours before looking to change social media usage for the good of society.
dopamine is a monthly guide with a focus on taking action to overcome the personal overconsumption and excessive use of social media, examining the damage this can leverage on each of us and looking at ways to make positive lifestyle changes.
The publication is highly visual and exploratory with thought-provoking images, reflective questions and set tasks. Reflecting a key element of a social media post, the choice of full-page imagery is deliberate.
The adage of photojournalism is true in that ‘a picture says a thousand words’, and in using them, I encourage the reader to reflect on the significance of the image and how it impacts them.
